About Us

It's where we start our day, where we laugh out loud, where we gather.

Forvana Kitchens is your go-to local spot in St Albert for all things kitchen remodeling! Meet Craig Ash, our founder and president, a certified Red Seal Journeyman carpenter with nearly 30 years of hands-on construction experience. Craig is not just the big boss; he's the friendly face you'll see every day, taking care of the nitty-gritty day-to-day operations.

Joining Craig is his better half, Aullivonne, holding down the fort in the office, and their two sons, the future 4th generation carpenters. FAQs

  • Why Ikea cabinets?

That’s easy. Great quality cabinets at an affordable price. Don’t mistake them for cheap. Cheap suggests low price/low quality. Ikea produces their cabinets on such a massive scale that they are able to sell them at an affordable price while maintaining great quality. This is a big part of how we can get people into beautiful new kitchens at a reasonable price. Many of our clients put the money saved on cabinetry towards high end finishes in other areas.

On top of that, their unique installation system is perfect for renovations. Occasionally certain kitchens present challenging situations. Because we have worked with the Ikea product so much, we have learned how to get creative in finding solutions.

  • Why choose Forvana?

For a few reasons. Most of our competitors hire subcontractors for every aspect of construction. Forvana believes in making sure experts in their field carry out each scope of work and we happen to be experts in carpentry.

Because carpenters are so diverse and need to have general knowledge of every scope of work, this makes us so effective in coordinating a renovation. This leads to a smoother and shorter build process in the long run and a suitable design specifically tailored to your budget requirements.

We are involved in your project from concept to implementation, eliminating any confusion to make sure you get exactly what you want. Too many middlemen can lead to miscommunication.

Finally, we are unique in that we offer the most premium Ikea service in the area, offering a full range of services from trade experts we have learned to trust over the years. To our knowledge, nobody else offers all these services the way we do.

  • What is ‘Order Management’?

Order Management is where we deal with Ikea on your behalf. We make the purchase, catalogue the inventory (Theres a LOT of different items!), check for damaged items, make trips for back ordered items, and take care of delivery. For the novice, this can be an incredibly time consuming and frustrating process. We know how to place the order so we get only what we need and not get “upsold” on things not needed.

When the initial order is made at Ikea, we can expect around 75% of the order to be in stock. This needs to be taken that day and stored until the rest of the order arrives. Sometimes it takes up to 2 months for everything to arrive. Rather than having a bunch of boxes plugging up your garage or living room, we store them at our St Albert shop for you. This also allows us to assemble them at our shop rather than in your home, thus reducing construction time.

  • What do you mean by “the smart way to remodel”?

There are a few things in we have in mind when we make this statement. First, by using Ikea for choice of cabinet supplier. Great quality with a very reasonable price tag and many storage solutions. We have gotten quite good at making Ikea cabinets work in many situations through clever customizations.

Second, because we are a one stop shop, you don’t need to worry about organizing a bunch of different trades. We have a team of professionals, mostly St. Albert based small businesses, that we have come to trust over the years.

And lastly, we work in a very efficient manner to keep construction time to a minimum so your family can get back to having a kitchen again.

  • Are you affiliated with Ikea?

We have no affiliation to Ikea. Therefore, there is no confusion about where our loyalty is: with you, the customer.

  • Who do I contact during construction about questions or concerns?

Forvana owners Craig & Aullivonne Ash will be your direct point of contact. Craig is onsite daily during your project.

  • Do you work on weekends?

We usually try not to, but there are times when it makes sense to in order to maintain a schedule. In that case, it’s a no brainer as long as the customer is ok with it.

  • How many fake Google reviews do you have?

Every one of our reviews is authentic. We think one of the reasons for our excellent google rating has to be the fact we make sure we have a complete understanding of what is important to a customer. Knowing that no one person is the same means it is really important to listen to what people want and need.

  • What is the process? / How long does a project usually take?

Once you have reached out to us, we set up a free in-home consultation. From here we can get a good idea of what your needs are and you can get a feel for us.

Upon hiring us, we set up another appointment to get all the details necessary to start on a design for you. Usually, we will go back and forth a few times making adjustments until we get it exactly how you want it.

Once we have a design finalized, we set up appointments for trades site visits to start planning for what needs to be done and determine a scope of work.

After consulting with all members involved in your project, we will set a schedule. it usually goes like this:

Week one-Demo, electrical rough-in, drywall repairs and misc. items.

Week two- Cabinet installation, countertop template, misc. items.

Week three- Flooring, paint, misc. items.

Week four- counter install, plumbing, tile backsplash & electrical final.
